About Us

We are a team of three United Reformed Church (URC) churches in and around Kingston upon Hull, England:

Christ Church Swanland (aka 'the church by the pond') is in the picturesque village of Swanland in the East Riding of Yorkshire, just a short distance West of the city of Hull.

Christ Church is a 'Local Ecumenical Partnership' and ministry there is shared with the Methodist Church.

St. Ninian's and St. Andrew's URC (aka 'the church on Chants') is in the historic Avenues area of Hull. The area has played home to a host of artists, writers, intellectuals and bohemians, and still has hallmarks of a creative and vibrant community.

Zion URC is formally known as 'Zion and Newland United Reformed Church' - after the closure of Newland URC which itself replaced Hope Street Congregational Church some years before. Zion has an imposing, historic building which sits in a prominent place on Hallgate in Cottingham.
