Weddings, Baptisms and Funerals

Baptism

Baptism and Blessings

We offer two different options for celebrating a new life .

The first is Baptism. This happens inside of a normal Sunday service and is intended for people intending a continuing relationship with our churches. It involves making promises about either raising a child in the Christian faith  or intending to live a Christian life for an adult who has not been baptised before.

The second is a Blessing Service. This happens at a mutually agreed time outside a regular Sunday Service and is intended for people who wish to seek a blessing for their child but do not feel that they want to make promises to bring up their child in any particular faith or want them to be able to make up their own minds when they are older. Because this happens outside a normal service we ask for a donation for undertaking this service.

Weddings

All three Churches carry out weddings. In addition to the wedding planning meetings we require people to have four pastoral sessions to explore what marriage means.

St Ninian's and St Andrew's is registered for marriage services, both for marriages between a man and a woman

and for marriages of same-sex couples.

Funerals

At these sad times we want to be able to celebrate the life of someone with honesty and respect.

We work with you to personalise the funeral so that it reflects and celebrates the life and personality of your loved one.
